Although nearly everybody uses gas as their central heating fuel, many are totally unaware that oil can be used as an alternative. For the elderly especially, keeping warm in the colder winter months is much more cost effective with oil filled radiators. When compared to perhaps the more traditional forms of heating such as gas and electric heaters or central heating, oil filled radiators come out ahead.

Energy prices could soar over the next ten years as the era of cheap and readily-available oil comes to an end, a new report has warned.
According to the UK Energy Research Council (UKERC), there is a major risk that oil production could peak by 2020 as resources become harder to find. With the ten largest oil-producing fields in the world now in decline, the report claimed that even major new discoveries will not be enough to prolong supply. (more…)

Russia upped its oil production last month to new record levels close to ten million barrels per day as sustained oil price increases helped to provide a steady source of income for the country’s economy.
Despite efforts by Opec to reduce output, Russia opted to continue along a path of increasing production.

I have driven a petrol automobile all my life, but because I travel quite a lot during the week people were constantly praising diesel engines and how much more practical they are and how much cheaper to run they can be. So when my old car packed up on me I decided to purchase a brand new diesel car.
