Although there are many people that argue that things such as garden play equipment and trampoline should not be allowed in the playground as they worried about health and safety I feel that in some instances you are actually denying kids a proper childhood.

So what are the reasons for this?

Well one of the major reasons that schools are just not prepared to throw in a bit of fun for the kids is partly down to being too scared to do it. The sad thing is there are so many people that would actually enjoy going out and taking a school to court. If a child falls of something then yes, fair enough it could be to do with the school not taking care of the children but in the most instance it is because kids are being kids and they are always falling over.

Price is another thing that is very important and it can be crucial as school’s do often not have big budgets. This is why it can be a lot easier to host a fair or something like that so that a lot of money can be raised so that the school can improve upon many of the things that it already has in the playground. If you think about it, a play system for a school is going to cost at least £5,000 and that is without thinking of installing it and keeping it in good condiiton.

This does seem to be a very big problem and relying on the public to come up with the cash isnt really a great idea as they are supposed to be paying taxes for this sort of thing!

The best thing to do is make sure that there is at least something in the playground to keep the kids occupied or they will have very boring lunch hours.
