Tanks Through The Years (2)
WW2 actually changed the way that we saw the tank which is why it has to be spoken about
WW2
Again WW2 wasn’t a time in which tanks made the most of cable ties and multicore cables but it has to be the time where tanks were used to win battles rather than just as an extra. If the tank had not been in WW2 then the war would have been completly different and Hitler may not have been able to take control of Poland to kick it all off. During this time the tank really came into play and it was turned from a heap of metal to the best used weapons system in the war.
Heinz Guderian who was a tactical theoretician actually stated before WW2 that “where tanks are, the front is” and this of course became reality during the course of WW2.
Adolf Hitler used tanks heavily in his very successful Blitzkrieg tactics. Radio was something that became important for Hitler and he stuck radio in the tanks as a means to keep communication open which is partly why they succeeded at first. Hitler of course used this to gain control of Poland as well as France. Hiter is the whole reason that the Allies looked into making the tank the war machine that it became. A major nation defeated in weeks shocked the world and this was the nudge that the Allies needed to start building better tanks.
There were many, many tanks during the course of the war but the most famous of them had to be the Tiger, Panther, Sherman, M4 and SMK.
The tanks in World War Two of course were responsible for many deaths. The number of people that were killed by tanks was actually very high but no one knows exactly how many of the 56,125,262 people that died was down to the tank.
During the Cold War tanks became very popular again as each side was trying to make more than the other and they are of course used everyday still today. Many tanks now have thier own ac fans.
