Market Your Second Home better for the Season
If you own a holiday home abroad, you’ll know that renting it out when it’s empty is a brilliant way to earn some extra cash. The extra cash can help to pay for things like maintenance or insurance for holiday homes. However, you’ll also know that different countries have different tourist peaks.
Unfortunately for some second home owners, the countries they own their home in aren’t popular all year round. However, if you are lucky enough to have a holiday home in either a hot country or a snowy country, there are some things you can do to improve business.
Changing your marketing campaign for your holiday home to match the upcoming season is very important if you want to rent your home out. To try and get some last minute bookings this Winter, use a variety of seasonal photos to force the idea of a different climate.
Highlight features within your holiday home that are tempting for the season. If you have a holiday home in countries known for skiing, use features such as hot tubs, baths and open fires to temp customers.
Coming up to Winter, ski resorts are going to be popular as people start looking for last minute deals. Countries like Slovenia, Andorra, Poland and Bulgaria are becoming popular as they are seen to be a cheaper alternative to the French and Swiss prices. Having a holiday home in one of those would look to be a good investment at this time of year.
Alternatively, the Canary Islands seem to be the most popular Winter sun destination this Winter. Due to it’s almost guaranteed sunshine, the Canary Islands are popular alternatives to long haul flights to more expensive destinations. Sandy beaches and warm climates are good points to target if you are trying to rent your property out.
Just making a few small changes to your marketing strategy will help to keep your second home busy. After all, the extra cash would be useful for paying off bills like home insurance abroad because having to maintain a second home abroad isn’t cheap, particulary the holiday cottages insurance.
