Moving is tough, but plan with the goal of ease in mind. So how do you make the process comfortable? Packing, lifting, driving can take a toll on your stress levels and you can be pretty short tempered.
Here are a couple of directions that can help you:
1. List Preparation: Don’t do everything at once, plan ahead. Look for your comfy chair take your writing materials and write down what you need to do. Some of the tasks should be important, rank them first. Once your list is prepared, make copies of it and keep it hanging at some places so that you can review it.
2. Throw away the unwanted: As you are packing the various stuff, you will come across all sorts of things and collections and memories which are no longer required but have an emotional value. My advice is not to get too emotional over such things. Pack what is really needed and forgo the emotional. There will also be a range of things that are stored up because you want to use it during an emergency. These things can be useful but they do take up space. If you do not want to throw them away, consider giving them to someone.
3. Make categories: Classify all your items in terms of rooms. Plants should be in patio category while toys should be in children’s room category. Don’t forget to clean your items before packing them
4. Stay calm: Keep in mind, errors do happen and it’s human nature. There is a chance that we forget to tape up the vase or put the knives in the bedroom category. Just don’t end up fretting, give a laugh and carry on.
