Make sure your heating system is okay
The temperature is sure to dip down soon with the Autumn rains already hitting the south of England. Although it isn’t cold at the moment it will start to get very nippy, especially in the mornings and late evenings. It led me to ponder my usage of my central heating at home over the past year, and how I use it.
Think back, I bet it was a while ago when you switched your heating on last.? Although we haven’t had the best of summers, we haven’t had a cold summer by any means so just how long ago was it when you had to go and turn all the radiators on?
If you do not check it often enough it can cause some problems. Perhaps you are having troubles lighting the boiler, then lucky you.. Some of the worst cases involve smoking and even explosions.. Sometimes it can release a deadly gas that you cannot smell so the likelihood of death is very high from that.
Make sure you have the boiler serviced now otherwise winter will kick in and you will have no chance.. Many companies will try to rip you off at this time of year. You do need to watch out for people who aren’t legitimate though. There are many lists out there with registered companies who are officially trusted by people and using one of these might be a good idea.
A poor boiler is likely to waste energy too.. Why not look at getting double glazing as it keeps the warmth inside..
