What is wrong with Indian Food?
This is a common thought for many people who are just about to venture over to India. What is the food going to be like? People normally get a bit put off by how dirty the country is but there is really no reason to be put off. Most of the time the Indian food is completely safe to eat and there is no reason to be scared of getting food poisoning or anything like that.
The most important thing that people forget when travelling to India is that the people over there take their cooking very seriously and they take great pride in all of their spices, vegetables and sauces. To them cooking is an important affair and they will always take pride in what they cook no matter how small or large the restaurant. It is arguable that the ingredients themselves might not exactly be fresh but the food is always cooked which is the main thing. Some of the best food is available to you over in India and I would not hesitate to get back out there as soon as I could. Some great dishes to look out for are the vegetable kofta, chicken pinha and the Kafka. All of these dishes are amazing and they are available all over India. Mainly, the North of India will serve a lot of vegetable dishes while the South will offer you meat dishes.
For me as long as you use the rule of, “If it’s hot It’s OK”, you should be fine. The best method is to stick your finger in the middle of the food and if you shout, “OWW!” then you should be OK. If you were asking me then I would always say enjoy yourself and enjoy the cuisine of a country, otherwise you will never end up being fully immersed in the culture.
