Cruising to the Galapagos Islands
It is possible as you visit the Galapagos Islands, that you will be walking in the footsteps of Charles Darwin. A group of American film makers have done that, and produced a documentary which aims to refute some of Dawin’s original theories. Evolutionary theory is still what it claims to be – a theory. But to an evolutionist, it is the equivalent to the Christian Bible.
Andy and Jon Erwin produced the documentary The Mysterious Island, which was time to coincide with the anniversary of Darwin’s book. The documentary is filmed through the eyes of a teenage boy, who with his father, tracks the areas walked by Darwin and examines the same mysterious creatures. It aims to examine some of the questions that Darwin failed to answer, or as they claim, simply got wrong. The mission set out to decide whether the Galapagos Island were creation’s showpiece or the laboratory of evolution. The theory of evolution is an emotive subject, and has divided opinion and communities for two centuries.
It doesn’t come as a great surprise to know that the Galapagos Island are a popular destination within the tourist industry. In fact in recent years a Galapagos holiday featured in a poll in America as being one of the top five destinations on the planet. As ideas for active holidays go, this one is quite hard to beat. It is intriguing to consider why people from one of the largest land masses, desire to visit somewhere with one of the smallest. As far as I know, there not a Big Mac in sight! For some people a visit to the Islands means Galapagos Cruises and a guided tour of the inhabited islands. For others, Galapagos cruises are best left for those who want to soak up the sun, whilst experiencing the high quality entertainment and service that come with the package. It sounds to me as if it could be so wonderful that there would not be a person on the planet who would resist it!
